ACTS OF THE SYNOD: MAIDEN WORKSHOP HELD FOR GOASO DEANERY

On 2nd April, 2025, the Goaso Deanery held its maiden workshop in a series focused on the Acts of the Synod of the diocese which occured in October 2024.The workshop emphasized on Governance and Liturgy. The event brought together priests, religious, and lay representatives from various parishes.
Present at the workshop were the Bishop, Most Rev. Peter K. Atuahene, the Vicar General, Monsignor Matthew Addai, the Financial Administrator, Fr. Stephen Gyau, priests from the deanery, and members of the Parish Pastoral Council from the various parishes.
This workshop served as an essential platform for discussing and implementing key resolutions and pastoral directions from the diocesan synod, ensuring the strengthening of the Church's mission across all levels.
The workshop opened with a warm welcome from the Vicar General, who emphasized the significance of the Synod's resolutions in fostering spiritual growth, unity, and effective pastoral ministry within the diocese.
The main presentation was divided into two sessions: Governance and Liturgy. The Governance session was led by the Chancellor, V. Rev. Fr. Theophilus Akyeampong Pepra, who provided insights into strengthening Church leadership structures, enhancing transparency and accountability in pastoral administration, and the role of lay participation in Church governance.
The Liturgy session was led by Rev. Fr. Bismark Appiah Kyeremeh, who focused on maintaining reverence and active participation in liturgical celebrations, the significance of standardized liturgical practices, and their impact on faith development.
Participants were encouraged to contribute and seek clarification on the various topics discussed.
This interactive approach ensured that all concerns were addressed and that there was a collective understanding of the themes presented. Additionally, participants were tasked with the responsibility of explaining to their parishioners what was discussed at the workshop, ensuring that the knowledge gained would be effectively disseminated at the parish level.
The workshop ended on a high note, with closing remarks from Vicar General, who commended participants for their enthusiasm and commitment. This workshop served as a significant milestone in the diocese's journey towards implementing the Acts of the Synod.
With renewed zeal and a clear roadmap, the deanery is poised to strengthen its pastoral mission, fostering a vibrant and mission-driven Church. Subsequent workshops would be held in other deaneries across the diocese.
