The Requiem Mass was presided over by Monsignor Matthew Addai, Vicar General of the Diocese. The homily, delivered by Rev. Fr. Captain Henry Oduro Asante, was both powerful and reflective.
Drawing from St. Paul’s message to the Romans, he emphasized the Christian call to live for the Lord, to love one another, and to offer mutual support.
He reminded the faithful that wealth and power hold no value in the face of death, where even the strongest must rely on others to carry them to their final rest. He noted that we must be humble and ready to face death, which Christ has already conquered through His sacrifice on the Cross. This, he said, should inspire us to live in faith and service, preparing our hearts for eternal life.
The Final Commendationwas led by Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Afriyie, as the congregation commended Madam Esther’s soul to God’s eternal mercy.
At the cemetery, the graveside ritual was solemnly performed by Very Rev. Fr. Theophilus Akyeampong Pepra, Chancellor of the Diocese, offering final prayers and rites as the body was laid to rest.
The celebration of her life drew the presence of numerous priests and religious from the Goaso Diocese and beyond, alongside parishioners and sympathizers from across the diocese, all gathered to show their love, support, and solidarity with the bereaved family.
We thank God for the life of our sister and continue to pray for her peaceful repose and merciful judgment in the life to come.
