The Bishop of Goaso, Most Rev. Peter K. Atuahene, was represented at the event by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Very Rev. Fr. Theophilus Akyeampong Pepra, who chaired the program.
The event featured enlightening talks by Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Afriyie, Director of the Diocesan Development Office, and Sr. Lucy Sasu HDR of the HDR Sisters Foundation. They spoke passionately about the rights of children, dangers of child labour, which deprives children of education, health, and a secure future. They also emphasized the importance of empowering girls through education, skills training, and leadership opportunities.
Among the dignitaries present was Mr. William Boakye-Baafi, Regional Manager of Catholic Schools, as well as a representative of the District Director of Education, alongside priests, parishioners, community members, youth, and local leaders. Participants engaged actively in discussions and pledged their support to end child labour and to protect the rights and dignity of girls.
The sensitization concluded with a strong call to action: to work together in building a society where every child is free from exploitation and every girl is given the opportunity to flourish.
