17TH GOASO DIOCESAN PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT GOASO

The 17th meeting of the Goaso Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC) was officially convened on 14th February 2025 at the Diocesan Pastoral and Social Center in Goaso. The gathering brought together representatives from the clergy, lay faithful, and various diocesan institutions to deliberate on matters of pastoral, social, and administrative significance to the life and growth of the diocese.

The Diocesan Pastoral Council, a key advisory body to the Bishop, plays a central role in guiding the overall direction of the diocese. Its mandate includes fostering collaboration between clergy and lay leaders to ensure that pastoral activities, social programs, and administrative functions are effectively aligned with the needs of the faithful. 
The DPC serves as a vital platform for dialogue, ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of all members of the diocese are heard and addressed in a spirit of unity and shared purpose.

During the meeting, participants engaged in extensive discussions on a range of critical issues, including priest welfare, community development initiatives, and strategies for enhancing the spiritual and social well-being of the faithful. Council members were encouraged to continue working collaboratively to advance the mission of the Church in the Goaso Diocese.

As the diocese continues to grow and evolve, the Diocesan Pastoral Council remains a cornerstone of its progress, promoting unity, cooperation, and faith-based initiatives that benefit the entire community.

In his address, Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene ,Bishop of the Diocese, reaffirmed the importance of the DPC as a vital instrument for fostering the spiritual and social development of the Diocese. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening the Church's presence and impact in the region, guided by the principles of faith, service, and collective responsibility.
