BISHOP ATUAHENE COMMISSIONS MECHANIZED BOREHOLE AT KASAPIN

His Lordship, Most Rev. Peter Atuahene has commissioned mechanised borehole at Kasapin in the Asunafo North District on 11th December 2015. He thanked the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Francis Addae Poku for making the proposal and the donors, ‘Grove for Ghana’ in St. Hugh Catholic Church, Miami, U.S.A. who sponsored the project.

The Bishop appealed to the stakeholders to ensure proper maintenance of the project and pleaded with the District Assembly to do the expansion work. According to him wild animals in the forests are diminishing, the forest is gradually being destroyed, while water bodies are being polluted. He therefore appealed to the people to stop indiscriminate felling of trees to protect the forest and the water bodies. He encouraged the parents to take interest in the education of their children, especially the girls, and to protect them against teenage pregnancies, drug abuse and other social vices.

The Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Thomas Ameyaw Bekoe, thanked the Bishop and the Catholic Church in general for the development of Ahafo Area and more importantly Kasapin and its environs. He appealed to the people to pay their taxes to the Assembly for the development of the town. He cautioned the people to be extra careful during the dry season to prevent bush fires. He assured the people that there were opportunities for assistance from the government for the physically challenged persons, and they should contact him for more details.

The Chief of the town, Nana Opunuawisie Wiredu Brempong promised to give a vast parcel land to the church for future development projects. He asked the Bishop to establish a Good Catholic School for the children in the Community.
