Dantano Health Centre and Community Receive Safe Drinking Water

Most Rev. Peter Atuahene, Catholic Bishop of Goaso, has stated that in addition to his spiritual responsibilities, he is committed to providing safe and clean drinking water throughout his diocese especially in communities where sources of drinking water have been polluted. He said this during his recent commissioning of Expansion Work of Solar Powered Mechanised Borehole at Dantano in Asunafo South District to serve the Health Centre and the community.

In attendance at the ceremony were the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Daniel Owusu, the Queen mother, Nana Ama Agyarpa and her Elders, Rev. Msgr. Anthony Boahen Kyeremeh, the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Msgr. Benjamin Poku Donkor, Diocesan Project Development Coordinator, Rev. Sr. Dinah Ofosu, SSpS., Superior of the Holy Spirit Sisters, Ghana Province and dignitaries, and the Community members and School Children. 

About us

The Catholic Diocese of Goaso is the sixteenth diocese in Ghana to be created by the Holy Father Pope John Paul II. Until October 1997, the Catholic Diocese of Goaso was part of the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani. The installation of the current and first Bishop, Most Rev. Peter Kwaku Atuahene, took place on Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Goaso.
